Development and the Use of Settling Tank-Flocculators for Treatment of Recirculated Water at Metallurgical Works of Russia and Ukraine
Summary
It is told about the development by the scientific-engineering firm EKO-PROJECT and introduction at the metallurgical enterprises of Russia and Ukraine of a series of compact, highly efficient settling tank-flocculators intended for treatment of recirculated water of technological units, industrial-storm wastewater and water conditioning. Application of one-stage schemes of advanced wastewater treatment instead of two-level ones at settling tank-flocculators in a complex with new technology of gravitational dewatering of sludge produced therein allows to improve essentially all technical, economic and ecological indicators of water management of metal works.

Solar Mobile Module Plants of Hot Water Supply
Summary
The use of solar energy for hot water supply is the simplest trend technologically and the most progressive one practically. New designs of flat solar collectors and hot water tank-accumulators for solar hot water supply plants are proposed. A highly efficient mobile module plant of solar hot water supply has been developed and manufactured.

Enhancement of Efficiency of the Use of Geothermal Water for Hot Water Supply
Summary
Results of the study of the fractional composition of sand coming by with geothermal water from Apsheron, Karagan and Chokrak aquifers, and also its influence on kinetics of the precipitation of the solid phase of calcium carbonate from of geothermal water solutions are presented. A design scheme of effective use of geothermal water for hot water supply and heating is resulted.

Introduction of Two-Stage Scheme of Water Disinfection at Waterworks of St. Petersburg
Summary
It is told about the modernization of systems of water disinfection at waterworks of St. Petersburg using sodium hypochlorite and ammonium sulphate. It has allowed to liquidate completely the threat of affecting the city’s territory and population with highly toxic substances (gaseous chlorine and ammonia) owing to possible failures at industrial sites of the State Unitary Enterprise Vodokanal Sankt-Peterburga and at transportation of liquefied chlorine and ammonia solutions, and also to exclude chlorine and ammonia influence on the environment in the case of equipment depressurization. Introduction of the technology of water disinfection with ultra-violet irradiation has favored the realization of the concept of multiple barriers at potable water disinfecting at the city’s waterworks.

It is told about the realization of The Target Program of Organization of Reserve Water Supply of St. Petersburg at Emergency Situations in Peacetime and for a Special Period at the Cost of Operation Reserves of Ground Water. The use of underground sources available on the city’s territory will make it possible for the State Unitary Enterprise Vodokanal Sankt-Peterburga to guarantee the water supply of the megalopolis population at emergency situations.

Improvement of a Design Model of Operation of a Ring Water Supply Network
Summary
Issues of improvement of the design model of operation of the ring water supply network taking into account statistical data on its operation are considered. It is proposed to make corrections in the standards of water supply systems designing and supplement them with execution of reliability calculations of the ring water supply network.
