Modernization of Sewerage Treatment Facilities
Summary
The basic technical decisions and a description of the new equipment introduced at sewerage treatment facilities of the city of Novosibirsk are presented. It is told about the methods used when repairing pipelines and capacitive facilities. Modernization is carried out at all stages of treatment: at the main pumping station, mechanical and biological treatment facilities, sludge treatment facilities. Measures carried out make it possible to improve the quality of wastewater treatment, to reduce the discharge of polluting substances into the Ob. Modernization of the operating treatment facilities owing to the use of up-to-date equipment made it possible to improve the reliability of operation of the complex as a whole, to reduce the volume of sludge intended to further utilization, to reduce the negative influence on the environment and improve the city ecology.

Improvement of Treatment Technology of Industrial Wastewater of the Kudryashovsky Piggery Complex of the Novosibirsk Region
Summary
Features of collection, disposal and treatment of industrial wastewater of the Kudryashovsky piggery complex (the Novosibirsk Region) are considered. The main reasons for improper operation of the local sewerage treatment facilities are revealed. The basic reason for a halt of facilities is a generation of solid deposits presented by bibasic salt of magnesium-ammonium orthophosphate (МgNH4PO4•6H2O). on their surface. Salt crystals consolidate on reinforced concrete structures, fittings, and equipment. Results of the study aimed at the improvement of technology of industrial wastewater treatment using flocculants at the stage of mechanical treatment are presented.

Cooperation for the Benefit of Ecology
Summary
It is told about the introduction of equipment of the Scientific-Production Company ECOTON for modernization of treatment facilities of the city of Novosibirsk: tubular aerators, the automated complex of mechanical grates with a screw conveyor and a press-compactor, sluice gates, rake grates, belt filter-presses, screw transporters. The joint project of the Scientific-Production Company ECOTON and the Municipal Unitary Enterprise Gorvodokanal of Novosibirsk is oriented on the improvement of wastewater treatment and optimal reduction of expenditures for works execution. The use of equipment of the ECOTON Co. for the purpose of modernization of sewerage treatment facilities makes it possible to solve the problems of energy and resources saving.

Optimization of Operation of a City Water Supply System
Summary
Methods of the optimization of operation of a municipal water supply network of the city of Novosibirsk are presented. A number of variants of installation of reducing valves on different sites of the water supply network at the neighbourhoods Pashino (to itself) and Severny (after itself) of the Kalininsky District of the city are considered in detail. The results of the operation of various pressure regulators and frequency converters used at water supply pumping stations during the last few years are given. As a result of the installation of pressure regulators on sections of the water supply network of the Pashino and Severny neighbourhoods of Novosibirsk the total pumping capacity of stations Drinking Centre and Heat-and-Power Station-4 (HPS-4) has been cut by 10–15% and the pressure at the fourth-stage pumping station (HPS-4) has been reduced by 10 m H2O. At the same time the breakdown rate of the water supply networks of the neighbourhoods has dropped by 10–20%.

Enhancement of Energy Efficiency of Pumping Plants at Water Supply and Wastewater Disposal Systems
Summary
One of the ways of enhancement of energy efficiency of pumping plants at water supply and wastewater disposal systems introduced successfully at the Municipal Unitary Enterprise Gorvodokanal of Novosibirsk is considered. The matter is the introduction of high-voltage stations of frequency control of pump units with power voltage of 6–10 kV. Variants of frequency regulation and experience in their introduction at pumping stations are presented. The experience in operation of the stations of frequency control demonstrates their high efficiency not only in power saving but also concerning the rest operational indices including provision of the stable and guaranteed water supply to all consumers in particular.

Introduction of Program Complexes ASCPVodokanal and Remont-Expert at the Municipal Unitary Enterprise Gorvodokanal (MUE) of Novosibirsk
Summary
The experience in introduction and operation of the automated system of control of technological processes (ASCP) at water supply and sewerage networks as well as the maintenance of equipment of subdivisions of the Novosibirsk’s Gorvodokanal MUE is expounded. Unification and renewal of technical means and software makes it possible to create a united information data base. The programs introduced make it possible to unite separated information and assess the efficiency of the enterprise operation on the whole. The Remont-Expert program accelerates significantly the process of decision-making in the course of equipment repair work. The use of the program complex ASCP Vodokanal makes it possible to reduce man-hours of the staff of the central supervisory service, technical department, water supply and sewerage services in the course of execution of analytic work of information character.

Automated System of Control over Technological Process of Filtration
Summary
It is told about the stage-by-stage realization of the project of automation of the filtration process at the pumping-filtering station of the city of Novosibirsk. In the first place equipment of automated monitoring of parameters of the filtration process and equipment were introduced. The stage-by-stage introduction of the automation system on the basis of monitoring results makes it possible to optimize the process of filters washing. Owing to the correct adjustment of fittings and control elements it is possible to reduce the quantity of wash water by 18%. The second component of reducing wash water consumption is the optimization of a period of filters washing. By the parameters controlled (head loss, turbidity, capacity, position of valves during the washing) it is possible to increase the time of a filtering cycle by about 2 times which reduces water consumption for filters washing. The developed solutions of the stage-by-stage introduction of automation of control over the technological process make it possible to use them at analogous filtering facilities.

Innovation Technologies of Trenchless Replacement of Dangerous Pipelines
Summary
Innovation technologies and complete sets of equipment used at municipal water supply and sewerage networks for the trenchless replacement of emergency state pipelines of up to 600 mm diameter are presented. The technologies offered are notable for their principle novelty, high economic efficiency, do not demand earth works, the equipment and mechanisms are easy-to-manufacture. The use of up-to-date technologies makes it possible to abandon the construction of new communication means and service pipelines, to rehabilitate and improve completely the technical characteristics of operating networks after their reconstruction. Domestic developments possess higher technical and economic indices than their foreign analogous (output by 1,3 times, durability by 2–2,5 times). Technologies and mechanisms took out 57 patents including 7 foreign and 24 licenses were sold.

Enhancement of Technologies of Trenchless Laying of Underground Communication Means and Service Pipelines
Summary
An analysis of trenchless methods of building of horizontal wells for the laying of underground services is presented. A method of horizontal drilling involving the processes of destruction of rock mass and its removal from the well built possesses the biggest reserves of technical potential. Ways of improvement of the efficiency of a drilling process are considered. A new technique of drilling in the course of which a major part of rock destructed is removed and the lesser part remained is pressed into the well walls with the purpose of increasing their strength and solidity is offered. Transportation of rock mass is carried out by air flow in a special revolving pipeline. The results of laboratory and production tests of a mockup sample of a drilling device using the developed technique of drilling for building of horizontal wells are presented.
