Aeration Systems of High Capacity
Summary
Design characteristics of aerators of high capacity produced by the Ecopolymer Group are presented. Comparing with other apparatus Ecopolymer aerators have the highest air flow capacity, in the process their mass-transfer characteristics remain at high level. An unique innovative toroidal AQUA-TOR aerator, which can easily substitute three standard 12-inch membrane aerators is described. An AQUA-TOR aerator membrane modification has been developed by the Ecopolymer Group in cooperation with SIF Patfil. The Ecopolymer aerators of various modifications – high efficient, reliable, having a long time of operation – operate in aeration tanks of any design and in wastewater of any composition.

Simulation of Biochemical Processes of Wastewater Treatment as a Basis of WWTFs Retechnologization
Summary
In accordance with the requirements of environmental legislation it is necessary to introduce the best available technologies at biological WWTFs. In the course of development of plans of reconstruction and capital repair of sewerage treatment facilities it is necessary to carry out the variant examination of flow charts of treatment on the basis of imitation simulation. A detailed analysis and comparison of different models of processes with activated sludge have been conducted. Treatment processes at large number of facilities have been simulated with the help of the Ecosim 3P program developed by the Ecopolymer Company. It is shown that the imitation simulation makes it possible to ensure a high accuracy of treatment results prediction. An approach to the retechnologization of treatment facilities based on mathematical models of biochemical processes with activated sludge has been developed. This approach tested experimentally at a whole number of biological treatment stations has made it possible to carry out their retechnologization resulted in considerable reduction of biogenic elements in treated water.

Up-To-Date Equipment and Facilities for Mechanical Treatment of Wastewater from Coarse-Disperse Admixtures
Summary
Up-to-date equipment for wastewater treatment from coarse-disperse admixtures is considered. Designs of screens are described briefly, their advantages and shortcomings are presented. Formulas for calculation of head loss on sreens are presented. Recommendations to install screens with openings not less than 5 mm are made. The comparative analysis of different methods of sand-catchers design shows that the normative time of stay in sand catchers can be extended up to 10 minutes. Literary data treatment has made it possible to obtain formulas offered as a new calculation base for determination of efficiency of horizontal and aerated sand catchers during the designing. Up-to-date equipment for sand collection and removal is considered.
