Methodic procedures of hydraulic designing plumbing systems in tenement buildings
Summary
Changes in the current water and wastewater regulatory legislation establishing unambiguous requirements to the development of methodic procedures are considered. The guidelines on creating methodic procedures that being implemented will ensure the legitimacy of the methods are given. It is shown that using utility facilities of the entire apartment as a primary element and introducing two new concepts, i. e. master service connection and maximum momentary flow, allowed developing advanced methods of determining design flows and required water head for the master service connection.

Integral control of pressure holding pump operation
Summary
The substantiation of the efficiency of the integral control of pressure holding pump operation in domestic water supply systems on the basis of the theoretic calculations, results of field studies of booster stations (water flow rate, pressure in suction and pressure pipelines) and pressure surveys in plumbing fixtures is presented. The diagrams of «pump-water main» working point movement at different control methods are given. The resource and power conservation efficiency of the integral control of pressure holding pump operation is determined. The recommendations on introducing integral control at block pumping stations are given.

Methods ofimproving the reliability of water distribution network operation
Summary
The conditions of providing for the integrity of the water distribution network for maximum possible period are considered. On basis of analyzing the mathematical expression developed with the use of mass service system device the conditions of ensuring water distribution network integrity are determined. It is established from the experience of water distribution network operation that pipe material and repair time are critical for reliability improvement. Ductile iron pipes with interior cement-sand coating and PVC pipes as better meet this requirement.

Biological wastewater treatment in disk biofilters
Summary
The analysis of the results of investigating geometrical, physical, chemical and biological parameters of biofilm in disk biofilters alongside with domestic wastewater treatment efficiency with the use of disk biofilters at the existing wastewater treatment facilities is presented. The data on the disk biofilter process conditions are required for calculating this type of equipment when designing wastewater treatment facilities.

Regularity of surface runoff composition changes
Summary
The summarized data on the surface runoff composition of the Samara territory are presented alongside with the results of investigating basic factors that determine the composition. The regularity of the surface runoff quality changes is analyzed. The representative set of parameters that provide for detecting the condition of the entire system and monitoring the composition of the runoff was specified. On the basis of time series decomposition the impact of separate components on the general variability of the surface runoff quality parameters was evaluated.
