Enhancement of Efficiency of Biological Removal of Nitrogen and Phosphorus Compounds at Sewerage Treatment Facilities
Summary
The technology of wastewater treatment for biogenic elements using the processes of nitri-denitrification and dephosphatization on the basis of up-to-date sewerage treatment facilities is described. The principle of computer simulation with the help of the program complex BioWin is the basis of technical decisions. The aim of this calculation is to achieve reliable results which can be used in practice. The main advantages of introduction of high effective, ecologically safe technologies of waste water treatment using the equipment manufactured by the scientific and production firm Ekoton are described. Stages of the main works made by the engineering department of the company which can become a base for the beginning of design preliminary studies and receiving of necessary investments are considered.

Intensification of Wastewater Treatment at Small Treatment Facilities of the Crimea
Summary
The problem of treatment of polluted and insufficiently treated wastewater of small objects and settlements of the Crimea is elucidated. Data on intensification of operation of small sewerage treatment facilities of the settlement of Kanaka (Alushta District) are presented. To increase the output of small sewerage treatment facilities and efficiency of wastewater treatment the flowcharts with the replacement of physically depreciated and morally obsolete equipment are offered. Reasonability of the use of mechanized grilles and aeration systems with aerators АПКВ-120 manufactured by the scientific and production firm Ekoton is considered. The successful experience of reconstruction of sewerage treatment facilities with increase of their output and improvement of efficiency of wastewater treatment as well as construction of the new facilities using power saving technologies for small objects and settlements have allowed the SPF Ekoton to realize a number of projects at the territory of the Crimea.

Dewatering of Municipal Wastewater Sludge at Mobile Compact Complexes
Summary
The actual problem of reduction of volumes of wastewater sludge and areas allotted for them accordingly is considered. Specific complications at sewerage treatment facilities of the health resort cities of the water areas of the Black Sea and the Sea of Azov connected with significant seasonal changes of volumes of incoming wastewater are described. The original economic method of sludge dewatering using the compact complex on the basis of a belt press filter ПЛ-6K manufactured by the SPF Ekoton is offered. The use of the compact complex of mechanical dewatering of sludge will make it possible to dewater both the sludge from municipal treatment facilities and from sewerage treatment facilities of groups of nearby settlements without necessity to construct separate shops of mechanical dewatering or transportation of large volumes of sludge to stationary shops.

On the Issue of Payment for Pollution of Water Objects
Summary
Issues of the definition of payment base and amounts of payment for pollution of water objects from of validity and justice positions are considered. The modified approach to definition of payment base on the basis of comparability and general control over water quality indices is offered. Instead of deciphering of water chemical composition the brief list of compositions and properties characteristics reflecting the negative influence on water objects – mineralization (salt content), transparency and turbidity, eutrophy, oxygen and heat conditions, general radioactivity and toxic effects – is offered. Coefficients of the reduction of chemical indices and formulas of calculation by temperature and toxicity for definition of the value of water resources depletion as a result of pollution limiting or excluding their authorized use for specific purposes are proposed. Feasible methods of the cost estimate of the value of water resources depletion with corrective coefficients defining the degree of resistance of wastewater to biological decomposition in a water object and the degree of danger brought to light on the basis of comparison of the level of water resources depletion by a concrete discharge with a real diluting capability of a concrete water object near the discharge range are presented. It is requested to test the approach proposed and compare the results obtained with amounts of payments collected now.

Modernization of the Zelenogorsk Water Supply Station is a Stage of Realization of the Regional Program Pure Water
Summary
The following works have been done within the limits of modernization of the Zelenogorsk water supply station (St. Petersburg): reloading of high-rate filters with installation of the new drainage system TRITON improvement of water aeration system (enrichment with oxygen in a pan aerator), and automation of technological process. The technique of water treatment for manganese at the second stage of the process with the use of catalytic oxidation in pressure filters containing the three-layered quartz sand, pyrolusite, and anthracite media has been introduced. The quality of water treated at the Zelenogorsk water supply station after its modernization meets the requirements of the Russian and European standards at all points.

Assessment of Water Saving When Using the Regulated Electric Drive in Pumping Plants of Water Supply Systems
Summary
Methods of the assessment of water saving developed by specialists of the Yagorba Ltd. and the automation laboratory of the NII VODGEO PC are described. The assessment of water saving when using a regulated drive for various variants of pumping plants operation in the water supply systems can be made with the help of these methods. Results of the calculation are close sufficiently to the results of operational supervision on real objects. This procedure can be used for estimation of reduction of wastewater disposal into the sewerage owing to the reduction of non-productive discharges in a water delivery system. The example of calculation of predicted water saving for a pump installation with one and several units is presented.
